Darmstadt (ots) – On Friday evening (April 30th) a suspicious suitcase was reported to the 1st police station at around 9.45 p.m. on Luisenplatz. The said object was found by a radio patrol at the fountain in front of the Luisencenter. The condition of the case made it necessary to use the defuser from Wiesbaden and other patrols. During the disarming, the entire Luisenplatz had to be cordoned off for a good two hours and the tram and bus traffic had to be diverted before the disarmers could give the all-clear after carefully checking the suitcase.
