In 2020 the Richard Wagner Festival was canceled due to the corona. For this year the organizers are planning a slightly reduced program. The focus is on a new production of the opera “The Flying Dutchman”. In addition, the action artist Hermann Nitsch designed the “Walküre”. As part of a multimedia project, the three performances are supplemented by commissioned works in various artistic directions that are intended to reflect, comment on, continue or make new experiences of all parts of the “Ring” cycle. In addition, the Latvian conductor Andris Nelsons is to return to the Green Hill for two concerts.
