the vaccine again injectable in the United States

Last Friday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) decided to end the recommended break on the use of Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine. The FDA, for its part, revised its authorization for emergency use of the vaccine to include a new warning about the “plausible” risk of rare but serious blood clots in adult women under the age of 50. 15 cases of rare but serious thrombosis have been reported in people who received the J&J vaccine in the United States.

All concern women, 3 of whom have died and 7 are hospitalized (including 4 in ICUs – intensive care units). Other possible cases are currently under review, and some could involve men.

In Europe, the EMA said unsurprisingly that it maintained its confidence in J & J’s vaccine, but left the choice of how to administer the product to EU member states.
