Books, imagination and hope to celebrate Book Day at IES Santo Domingo

The hard pandemic that we live has rediscovered the need and importance of reading in our lives. Therefore, and strictly following the Covid-19 protocol of the center, the students, teachers, administration and services personnel and representatives of the AMPA ‘El Claustro’, of the IES Santo Domingo, have organized and participated this year in various activities on the occasion of the Day of the book.

Last week, 1st and 3rd ESO and 1st Baccalaureate students participated in activities such as ‘The treasure hunt’, ‘Cooperative games’ or a haikus workshop. In turn, the 4th year ESO students participated in the short story contest organized by the CEP of Cádiz. The result of his work was reflected in the exhibition ‘Every flea market has its booklet’, located in the cloister of the center. On Thursday, the activity ‘Enrolarte’ was carried out by the students of 2nd ESO, and on Friday 23, Book Day, the activity ‘Storytelling’ was held in the cloister of the center, starring the actor Nacho Treceño and the musician Javier Prieto, who played the curious instrument called hang, all aimed at 1st and 2nd ESO students.



Likewise, throughout the week the teachers participated in an activity through which each one chose a representative book in their life and was photographed with it together with an allusive object. All the images have starred in another exposition in the cloister, in which all members of the community who have wished to have participated by choosing their favorite image.

In short, a breath of pure air, imagination, reflection and reading he has toured the classrooms, galleries and cloister of the Santo Domingo institute all these days.
