AfD-Rechtsauen Mandic no longer a party member – Baden-Wrttemberg

Freiburg (AP) – The Baden-Wrttemberg AfD local politician Dubravko Mandic has resigned from his party. A spokesman for the AfD party as a whole confirmed this on Sunday. Mandic had previously communicated this step by email to the AfD district executive in Freiburg, of which he was previously a member. At first he did not give the reasons for this. The withdrawal declaration meets all the necessary requirements to be effective, said the spokesman. Mr Mandic has actually resigned and is no longer a member of the AfD.

A party expulsion process is pending against Mandic. It was not clear whether he would anticipate the exclusion by leaving and how long it would take to reach a decision. In the AfD state board of the AfD Baden-Wrttemberg, nobody was initially available on Sunday. The lawyer and Freiburg city council had repeatedly attracted attention because of insults, extreme language and his closeness to the identity movement. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution was also interested in this.
