Much is said about the side effects after receiving the corona vaccine. A more specific reaction to the vaccine now appears to be occurring in people who have had corona (even without their official knowledge). They seem to react much more strongly to the vaccination. How is that and is it harmful, for example?
Side effects
Muscle pain, headache, fatigue, chills, joint pain, fever and nausea are some of the side effects of the corona vaccine. These side effects are also known at the side effects center Lareb. However, reports are increasingly coming in that people who have already had corona react more violently to the vaccine. The side effects often last for days. It also concerns people with these severe complaints who have not officially established whether they have had corona, according to the outcome of an English investigation.
Pfizer in Moderna
The study concerns people who have received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Both vaccines are made according to the mRNA technique. It is not known whether people vaccinated with the AstraZeneca vaccine also experience these side effects. The Janssen vaccine is not yet in use at the time of the study. Another important point is that the side effects were also not so serious that people had to be hospitalized for them.
High antibody response
According to emeritus professor of vaccine development Ben van der Zeijst, it is known that people who have already been infected can react more strongly to the first vaccination. “The high antibody response is more powerful than with others,” Van der Zeijst told RTL Nieuws. People who have been determined to be COVID positive are known to have a 10 to 30 percent higher antibody response after vaccination.
6 months of immunity to corona
According to Van de Zeijst, it is quite possible that people who have been infected before will suffer more from side effects. “There is concern about that. Not for nothing the Health Council advises to vaccinate people who have already had the corona virus only once. ” After 1 shot they are very well protected. ” The condition is that one must have tested positive less than six months ago. That is the advice of the Health Council. They state that research shows that someone who has tested positive has built up immunity that lasts for at least 6 months.
Keep an eye on complaints
You may experience side effects within one or a few days after vaccination. These types of side effects are a response of the body to a vaccine and usually go away on their own. Keep a close eye on the complaints and contact your doctor if you are not confident.
