London –
Chelsea continue their steady gait together Thomas Tuchel as manager. The victory over West Ham United is proof of how tough Tuchel is.
Even though he had already lost one defeat with Tuchel, when he was brushed 2-5 by West Bromwich Albiion, Chelsea’s progress with Tuchel was still amazing. Apart from being taken to qualify for the Champions League semifinals, Chelsea also advanced to the FA Cup final.
After stumbling at the start of the season with Frank Lampard, Chelsea are now in fourth place in the Premier League standings with 58 points from 33 matches, after a 1-0 win at West Ham United, Saturday (24/4/2021).
Chelsea grabbed an important win in their race to the top four with a single goal from Timo Werner. Chelsea are now three points ahead of West Ham in fifth and four points over Liverpool in sixth.
The result also continues Chelsea’s stellar streak with Tuchel, who was unbeaten in his first 10 away games in all competitions with eight wins and two draws.
Tuchel is the second manager to do so in the Premier League after Claudio Ranieri and Leicester City for 11 games in 2015. In addition, Chelsea is the second team with the most points after Manchester City (36), with 29 points.
They have also managed to record 10 clean sheets from 14 matches so far, the fastest score. This steady performance made the players’ confidence increase, especially Tuchel.
“The players are very, very happy in the dressing room. Great performance, great results and I think we deserve it,” Tuchel told Sky Sports.
“We did not perform well in the first 10-15 minutes after the break, but we were outstanding in the last half hour and also in the first half,” he continued.
“We prepare for mediocrity and have not talked about the Super League again since Tuesday. I think all the players are fully focused and concentrated,” concluded. Thomas Tuchel.
