Reitshammer thus achieved the “Olympic Qualifying Time” with pinpoint accuracy, which he had already undercut the 100 m back and 200 m medley. This means that he could compete on all three routes in Tokyo. His performance of over 100 m chest is all the more impressive because it is actually not his specialty: “I don’t even know what to say”, the 26-year-old was speechless at first.
“To be able to swim exactly the Olympic limit and three disciplines in Tokyo is really cool. Of course, because of the locations, we also train chest discipline. But the main route remains clearly the back competition. ”A little later Reitshammer followed up with a final victory over 50 m back in 26.16 seconds and thus increased the number of OSV victories, including Johanna Enkner with the EM standard over 800 m crawl contributed (8: 52.01).
Podium places for Rothbauer and Pilhatsch in Helsinki
In Helsinki, the OSV duo, who trained under Dirk Lange, achieved several podium places. Christopher Rothbauer won the 50 m chest in 27.83 seconds and took third place in the 100 and 200 m chest in 1: 01.23 minutes and 2: 12.43 minutes, respectively. On these two routes, his German training partner Marco Koch landed directly in front of him.
Carolina Pilhatsch came second over 50 m back in 28.04 and over 100 m back in 1: 02.52 third. Here the Styrian was missing the desired Olympic limit of 2.27 seconds.
