A head-on collision between two cars took place on the N365 in Onstwedde on Saturday morning. Four people were injured in the accident.
An elderly couple from one of the cars has been seriously injured and taken to hospital. The occupants of the other car – a mother with her child – were also taken to hospital.
Several ambulances, the fire brigade and a trauma helicopter arrived on the scene to provide assistance.
According to a police spokesperson, all victims are approachable.
