CHIP has a French-language license from the CRTC and, through its mandate, ensures the promotion of linguistic duality within the Pontiac territory as well as that of the Gatineau valley and the county of Renfrew, in Ontario.
The radio station broadcasts on the frequency of 101.9 on the FM band with a transmitter with a power of 10 KW, allowing it to broadcast over a large territory.
In order to serve all the people of its community, CHIP FM offers its listeners a diversified programming. One of the main goals of the station is to keep the community well informed with local and regional news that is not necessarily broadcast by other regional media. The entire radio station team works hard to make its programming one that reflects well the cultural, economic, political, educational and social portrait of its region ”
As a non-profit organization, the annual revenues of CHIP FM are constituted; a subsidy from the provincial governor, weekly bingos, annual radiothon, radio advertising belly, membership fees as well as donations.
CHIP FM also known as Radio Communautaire de Pontiac was registered as a not-for-profit organization in June 1978. The first airing took place on 1is mars 1981.
