Airbus is planning a major reorganization of production

The worldwide Stelia division will include plants in St-Nazaire and Nantes in France. On the contrary, Premium Aerotec in Germany will split up and one part will focus on the large-scale production of smaller parts for aircraft machines.

Both Stelia and Premium Aerotec once wanted to sell Airbus, but there were not enough people interested.

The reorganization will also affect the plant in Brasov, Romania. There is still a debate about changes in production in Spain, hit hard by the cessation of production of the “superjumba” A380 and the decline in demand for wide-body aircraft.

The reorganization was announced two months after Airbus director Guillaume Faury said that aerostructures would be the basis for production. This is related to efforts to design a new fuselage or wings in connection with the decarbonization of flying.

The company is discussing changes that will affect 15,000 workers with unions. Airbus also has production facilities in the United Kingdom, but also in China and the USA.
