Tasikmalaya News, (harapanrakyat.com),– A video showing a man suspected of being a thief being beaten by residents has gone viral. The video spreads on Facebook and WhatsApp groups.

After being investigated, it turned out that the man who became the monthly resident was caught stealing money in a shop owned by a resident of Cisadap Village, Karangnunggal Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya Regency.

The man who was beaten was RA (24) alias Kentung. In the video, the man who was suspected of being a thief was seen trying to cover his face with both hands so that he would not be exposed to the HP camera recorder. A number of residents who were at the location let and only watched the vigilante action.

The perpetrator is a resident of Karangnunggal District. The place where he lived was only different from the village to the location of the theft. RA is known to steal Rp. 1.6 million from a shop owned by a resident named Dedi Permadi (47).

The action was successfully monitored and discovered through CCTV footage installed at the shop.

The Head of Tasikmalaya Police, AKBP Rimsyahtono SIK MM, confirmed that the perpetrator was caught stealing Rp. 1.6 million.

“The money he stole was worth Rp. 1.6 million. Before being taken to the police station, the perpetrator became a resident who was annoyed by his actions,” he said, Thursday (22/4/2021).

While carrying out the action, the perpetrator did not commit violence so that he was not charged with the weighting article.
