SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic.-The executives of the cinematographic company ADN Films held a meeting with the press specialized in art, entertainment, cinema and tourism, to offer new details about the cinematographic project ADN Bachata, supported by the Ministry of Culture and by diverse representative sectors of the artistic field of the country.
In an environment that recreated a cabaret, a scene that welcomed bachata in its initial stage, the president of ADN Films, Victor Minaya, defined the cinematographic proposal as an unprecedented project, made up of a highly qualified national and international team, which will include the direction of the Colombian filmmaker Liliana Bonanegra and the participation of the bachatero Anthony Santos, along with outstanding Dominican talents.
According to Minaya, the objective of the project is to guarantee a world-class cinematographic product, to be exhibited in the main cinemas of the cities that have embraced bachata, making it a global phenomenon evidenced in the more than 80 festivals that are held. hundreds of schools, instructors, DJs, singers and event organizers perform around the world.
Víctor Minaya, president of ADN Films and the main person in charge of the project, explained that ADN Bachata is only a means, and that the aim is to create a platform for tourism promotion for the country and the Dominican cultural product.
“It is about creating conditions and opportunities for our young people to be inserted in the world of world bachata events and that after the film we can have a great bachata festival in the Dominican Republic, just like Los Angeles, Paris, Shanghai have. , Madrid, Moscow, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Prague, Berlin, among other places on the five continents ”, emphasized Minaya.
Along with Minaya, the Vice Minister of Culture Bonny Cepeda, the journalist and author of the book «Bachata origin and evolution, Carlos Batista Matos, the dancer, DJ, and organizer of international bachata events Rudi López (El tigre del mambo ); businessman José García, an executive at ADN Films; and Luis José Chávez, president of the Ibero-American Forum of Tourism Journalists “FIPETUR”.
The director of ADN Bachata, Liliana Bocanegra, has directed famous series and soap operas such as: Doña Bella, La Esclava Blanca, La Ronca de Oro, La Reina del Flow, and Celia, among others.
While the prominent artist and Vice Minister of Culture, Bonny Cepeda, said that «ADN Bachata is a country project, which raises Dominican pride, will promote us in the world and we will be able to show the best of what we are using as a bridge what is happening with the bachata that is danced all over the world ”, adding that as a merenguero, citizen and vice minister, he is convinced that with DNA Bachata wins the country, the culture wins and we all win.
“That is why we reiterate the commitment of the Minister of Culture, Professor Carmen Heredia, to support initiatives such as this, being an interpreter of the feelings of our President Luis Abinader,” said Cepeda.
Carlos Batista Matos, author of the book “Bachata: Origin and Evolution”, declared that it is time for the Dominican Republic to do what so many countries have done that have exported their culture and fundamentally music through cinema, citing Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, USA, Spain, Brazil and Puerto Rico, becoming the platform for high impact tourism promotion. He said he hoped that ADN Bachata would be the first of many projects oriented in that direction, the journalist pointed out.
Rudi López, in charge of coordinating the international dancers of ADN Bachata, expressed the satisfaction of speaking in front of Dominican journalists, since he was born in New York, is the son of a Dominican father, and a Puerto Rican mother, ensuring that thanks to bachata he has known the world and wants Dominican dancers to also have that experience and be part of an economy that revolves around bachata where there are dancers and instructors who pay up to $ 5,000 for two hours of bachata shows or workshops in Europe, Asia and some US events.
Rudi López, international artistic entrepreneur and bachata dancer of Dominican origin, in a demonstration of his skills with the stellar dancer Susan De Beras.
While the journalist Luis José Chávez, president of the Ibero-American Forum of Tourism Journalists (FIPETUR) and leader of ADOMPRETUR, expressed his satisfaction with the initiative, and pledged the support of the Dominican tourist press with a project aimed at capitalizing on the enormous popularity and projection Bachata International.
He defined bachata as a symbol of identity of Dominican culture and as an ideal platform, together with merengue, to promote tourism throughout the planet, an initiative that in his opinion should respond to a joint action of the State and all sectors of the national life.
The meeting was held in the community of Los Mogotes, Villa Altagracia, on the ranch of José García, who is an executive of ADN Films, and was led by the prominent communicator and animator Michael Miguel.
