San Francisco de Macorís, R D.- The Bishop of the Diocese of San Francisco de Macorís, Monsignor Fausto Ramón Mejía Vallejo, received a delegation of officials from the General Directorate of Community Development, headed by the head of the DGDC, Eléierto Paula Liranzo.
The meeting is part of a series of meetings with members of the Catholic Church performing Paula Liranzo, in order to reach a cooperation agreement between both parties to develop training projects and community assistance in marginalized communities in the country.
The CEO of the DGDC understands that the churches will be of great help in the work of raising the priority needs of the communities because they are institutions that are always present in the most remote cities and fields of the country.
Eléxide Paula Liranzo added that the participation of the churches creates trust and confidence in the community support programs carried out by the General Directorate of Development of the Community in several localities of the Dominican territory.
The official recalled that he had already held a first meeting with the Metropolitan Archbishop of Santo Domingo, Monsignor Francisco Ozoria Acosta, in whom, according to what he said, he found great receptivity to his proposals.
In the meeting with the Bishop of San Francisco de Macorís, Monsignor Fausto Ramón Mejía Vallejo, Eléxide Paula Liranzo was accompanied by the general deputy director of the DGDC, Antonio Mateo; the administrative manager of the institution, Julián Burgos, and the transportation manager, Cristian Tejada.
While Monsignor Mejía Vallejo received the representatives of the DGDC in the company of Father Isaac García, Father Carmelo Santana and other personalities linked to the bishopric of San Francisco de Macorís.
Paula Liranzo assured that the DGDC seeks to reach collaboration agreements with as many Dioceses as possible to work together with ecclesiastical groups in favor of the economic, social and spiritual development of the communities.
