A singer from British Columbia improved the Guinness World Record by singing the note C1 – the lowest note “to” on a standard piano, UPI reported, quoted by BTA.
Joy Chapman from Surrey said that she has always had a wide vocal range and that is why she often sings male parts of songs. However, she can also sing very high notes.

Chapman’s niece encouraged her to try to break the world record when she discovered it was D2, the second lowest note on the piano.
“I’m starting to sing the C2 range. That’s why she said, ‘You can sing a lot lower, you have to try a record,'” Chapman said.
Chapman improved the record with several attempts due to various problems. One of them was that the microphone did not pick up its lowest tones.
“Everything went wrong on previous attempts,” she recalls. “It was ridiculous how many things didn’t work out.”

Chapman posted a video on YouTube with a recording as she improved the record.
