Nio, Aiways, Xiaopeng – China’s e-car manufacturers are conquering Europe

Shanghai, Munich When Samuel Fu speaks of Europe, he raves about it. “The European market is booming compared to China,” says the co-founder of the Chinese automaker Aiways. The public charging infrastructure is better and growth is faster. While the subsidy policy is being scaled back in China, things are only just getting started in Europe. “Europe is the better market to start a company like ours,” manager Fu is convinced.

This can also be seen in Aiways’ figures: Last year, the company said it sold 1,500 cars in Europe, 500 more than in China during the same period. This year the company wants to sell 10,000 cars abroad, as Fu explains in an interview with the Handelsblatt.
