The Rule of Fidel Castro and His Brother Is Over, Cubans in the US Happy Page all

WASHINGTON DC, KOMPAS.com – Horacio Llerena is so happy to be the Leader Because Raul castro, little brother Fidel Castro, announced his resignation.

Llerena, a contractor in New Jersey, is one of the Cubans who fled to AS in 1980 when the Castro dynasty came to power.

“We are so excited. We have been looking forward to this moment,” said the 61-year-old in Jose Marti Park, Union City.

The park features bronze statues of 19th -century Cuban poets and patriots, who lived in exile in New York in 1880.

Jose Marti was made a hero for returning and fighting Spanish imperialism, where he died in 1895.

Like Marti, Llerena also initially moved to New York from Havana, before moving again to New Jersey in 1982.

Considered Havana on the Hudson, Union City and West New York have been home to the Cuban community since the 1940s.

Llerena said, although Raul Castro resigned from his post in the communist party, very few changes would occur.

“Everyone connected with the communist party must leave,” he said. “They have to pay for the crime for 61 years.”

After two terms as president, Fidel Castro’s younger brother stepped down in 2018, making way for his successor, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez to step forward.

Raul became president in 2008 after seizing the throne from his older brother, the revolutionary leader who overthrew the dictator Fulgencio Batista in 1959.

Reported New York Post Saturday (17/4/2021), Diaz-Canel is believed not to change many policies.

Because even though he comes from a generation born after the Cuban Revolution, he is a child of Raul’s ideology.

“They talk about good things. But I don’t see the difference,” said Tony, 52, a first-generation Cuban-American who opened a restaurant called La Pola.

At the congress which takes place this weekend, Diaz-Canel is believed to be the general secretary of the party.
