Rather, for them, it is a question of enhancing the territory, from the Eure Valley to Dunois via the Chartres region.

“We are working on educational walks, led by professional speakers”, illustrates Antoine Mielle, the general secretary of the association. Because we no longer want to respect a territory we know and love, the Naturéliens hope that these activities will, in the medium term, reduce the quantities of waste left in nature.

In the office of the Naturéliens, “each one has its small specificity” notes its president Jean-Baptiste Lefebvre. “We all have an associative profile, many of us were at the Young Economic Chamber, some are elected”, details Ladislas Vergne, who is himself deputy mayor of Chartres. “We therefore have institutional reflexes, which allow us to know who to contact, and to organize transversal actions more easily. “
A real demand around ecology
A point that he believes is missing in the actions of the various local associations for the protection of nature. “Be careful, this is not exclusive,” adds Antoine Mielle. “The more associations the better. “
Especially since, Naturéliens note it every day, there is a “real demand” around ecology and the cleaning of nature, testifies Antoine Mielle. “When the municipality organized the Ecolo Run in Maintenon in October [qui proposait des parcours de marche, de course et de marche nordique associés à du ramassage de déchets, NDLR], we had to close the registrations a week before because there was a real enthusiasm ”, explains Jean-Baptiste Lefebvre, who is environmental and sustainable development assistant at Maintenon.

Maximilien Lheureux, the manager of La Petite Venise in Chartres, the ginguette on the banks of the Eure, has joined the movement. “The river is my working tool. It’s a small stream, but it’s polluted by whatever you throw into it. “We are not going to revolutionize ecology,” recognizes the president of the Naturéliens. But I hope that, tomorrow, we can organize outings for children, to make them aware of the problem of waste. “And make the little Eurelians the future defenders of their living environment.
