Pedro Acosta won a sensational victory by defeating Dennis Foggia in the Portuguese GP Moto3 race at the Portimao Circuit, Sunday (18/4). Meanwhile, Indonesian Gresini racer Gabriel Rodrigo finished fifth.
The interesting duel between Acosta and Foggia lasted until the last lap. Acosta, who strengthens the Red Bull KTM Ajo team, ensures victory through neat maneuvers at Turn 13 on the last lap.
Acosta finally secured the victory in Moto3 with a time of 38 minutes 01.773 seconds. Foggia finished second 0.051 seconds adrift of Acosta, followed by Andrea Migno who finished third.
Indonesian Gresini racer Gabriel Rodrigo competed at the front, but then bumped into another racer and briefly fell to a center position. The Argentine racer continued to look extraordinary by finishing fifth, behind Ayumu Sasaki.
The victory at the Portuguese GP made Acosta even stronger at the top of the Moto3 2021 standings with a score of 70 points. The 2021 Moto3 rookie won two wins and a second podium finish.
