Home Briefs: Kennedys will help Rose Garden score 30th; Feehan, AHS hosts spring musicals | Stories

MANSFIELD – Folk rockers Pete and Maura Kennedy return to the Rose Garden Coffeehouse at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

The Kennedys specialize in uplifting, anthemic folk-rock and have been performing for two decades.

“We are delighted to reunite with Pete and Maura,” said Stephen Ide, artistic director of the Rose Garden. “They’ve been with us over half a dozen times over the years and even performed on our 15th anniversary, so having them back for our 30th seemed right.

“The Rose Garden was one of the first places in the Northeast to welcome us when we left Texas, having left Nanci Griffith’s group and started spreading our own wings,” Maura Kennedy wrote in a post. Facebook.

In addition to the show, the rose garden will feature archival footage from over the years, a cake to celebrate the occasion and other surprises for the evening, Ide said.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. at the Congregational Church, 17 West St., Mansfield. It is wheelchair accessible and alcohol-free. Tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/RG19kennedys for $ 16, or for $ 20 at the door. More info: http://rosegardenfolk.com.
