A total of forty health workers (health workers) in Malaysia has tested positive COVID-19 despite having received two doses of the vaccination.

This was conveyed by the Director General of Health Malaysia, Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on Saturday (17/4), as reported by the media Named and Channel News Asia, Saturday (17/4/2021).

According to Dr Noor Hisham, nine of the health workers were infected corona virus more than two weeks after receiving the second dose of vaccine, while 31 other health workers were infected less than two weeks after receiving the second injection.

A total of 142 other health workers were infected after the first dose, while 244 health workers infected with COVID-19 were not inoculated.

“Obviously we can still be infected after vaccination is complete,” said Dr Noor Hisham in a Facebook post today. “Nothing is safe until everyone is safe,” he added.

However, he also said that vaccinated health care workers have symptoms of COVID-19 which isn’t too bad.

“Even though the vaccine provides a glimmer of hope to fight COVID-19, don’t be mistaken for assuming we can relax all public health measures after vaccination,” said Dr Noor Hisham.
