That is how it goes! Zug’s Claudio Cadonau checks Jan Neuenschwander over the gang.

Bern’s Jan Neuenschwander did not make empty promises. “They’re getting nervous, don’t worry,” said the striker cheekily after the opening break against Zug (2: 4). The Bernese promptly pulled out all the stops on Thursday (6: 2), they were harder, faster, more precise. The people from Zug were shown for 60 minutes, and at the end they stood there like poodles that have been doused.

“We noticed in the first game that a lot is possible,” says SCB back Ramon Untersander. “They really don’t like our physical game. We feel that more and more. And that is a key to success. ” Because: “You hit the puck away, just to stop receiving further checks,” adds Mika Henauer.

97-kilo chunks Justin Abdelkader, brought in in February as a man for the rough, tried to counter the hardship in Bern and challenged Vincent Praplan, who was 10 kilos lighter, to fight. But then Abdelkader landed like a beetle on his back and added a residual exclusion. “There was a lot of frustration,” says EVZ coach Dan Tangnes.

“Can also play hard”
Are the Zugers, who failed twice in the final at the SCB in the last four years, too soft? “We can also play hard,” justifies Grégory Hofmann, who was hit in the face by Conacher’s skate and was lucky to get away with a scratch. “It is up to us. Our game has to be much faster. ” They knew that Bern would bet on hardship. “They provoke our top players, try everything to take them out of the game.”

When asked about the nervousness, the Nati-Star says: “There is sure to be nervousness. It’s the big time of the year. Everyone really wants to win. But you shouldn’t take on too much. We have to improve, have fun and not be afraid of making mistakes. “

Diaz back soon?
Positive for Zug: Captain Diaz’s head injury should not be serious. They say you look from day to day. The negative: “We were able to take the wind out of the sails of the EVZ,” says SCB coach Mario Kogler. Bern has gained self-confidence. And from Zug’s point of view that is extremely dangerous.
