A corona certificate will be able to show both vaccination status, negative test results and any immunity after undergoing corona disease, writes the government.
– The use of the certificate has not yet been clarified, neither nationally nor with a view to entry and quarantine on arrival in Norway from abroad. There are many considerations that must be taken into account in this assessment, says Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie (H).
The Norwegian Directorate of Health and the National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) are now investigating how a corona certificate can be used in the reopening. The government will then take a position on the matter.
The final version of the certificate, which will be fully in line with EU regulations, will come at the end of June when the EU Commission’s bill to create a digital green certificate is scheduled to enter into force.
– From the Norwegian side, we have emphasized that a coordinated European approach to the design of corona certificates can contribute to a safe reopening in Europe. At the same time, we have emphasized that the use of the certificates must be regulated by national authorities, says Høie.
The Norwegian Directorate of Health, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, the Norwegian Directorate of e-Health and the Norwegian Health Network SF are developing the certificate in Norway.
It must be possible to retrieve the certificate digitally from helsenorge.no and download it for printing, and for use without being connected to the internet as well as the possibility of verifying information via a QR code.
