Elon Musk Will Build a Landing on the Moon for NASA

Suara.com – Aerospace company owned Elon Musk, SpaceX, will make landfall on Month for NASA as part of the Artemis mission that aims to send humans back to the lunar surface by 2024.

NASA has chosen SpaceX with a disbursement of $ 2.9 billion. This is NASA’s huge trust in SpaceX because no other company has received funding. The contract will be signed on May 1.

Four astronauts will be launched using the Orion spacecraft with the help of NASA’s Space Launch System boosters.

In space, two astronauts will then be transferred to SpaceX’s lunar lander. The two astronauts will spend about a week exploring the lunar surface, then boarding the lander and returning to Orion.

The SpaceX contract covers unmanned flight and manned landing. Subsequent landing projects will be carried out under a follow-up procurement program.

Apart from SpaceX, there are two other competing companies competing for the project, namely Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin and Dynetics. However NASA is expected to select two companies to receive lunar landing mission contracts.

SpaceX’s bid for a manned landing is the Starship, the next-generation spacecraft the company is currently developing.

“The human landing system will allow us to be able to access different parts of the lunar surface,” said Kathy Lauders, associate administrator for NASA’s Human Operations and Exploration Missions Directorate.

To date, 18 astronauts have been introduced to the Artemis mission. The mission will land the first female and non-white astronauts on the Moon, considering that so far only white people have been on the lunar surface.
