In Britain and Israel, the number of deaths dropped dramatically after vaccination

United Kingdom

The country of almost 67 million is generally considered to be Europe’s vaccine premier.

To date, British medics have vaccinated over 32.4 million people in a single dose, with around 8.4 million fully protected. At the moment, people over the age of 45 are entitled to vaccination. Then it’s time for the remaining forties.

A recent study by Imperial College London showed that the rate of infection fell by about two-thirds due to the rapid rate of vaccination. Hand in hand with this, not only those infected became infected, but also hospitalized and died with covid-19.

The current seven-day average of those infected in Britain is 2586 (according to data from the Worldometers server). To give you an idea, at the peak of the wave in early January, the curve reached a value of 68 thousand infected.

At that time, after two weeks, this was reflected in the increase in deaths. While 1,400 people died a day then, today the seven-day average of deaths is “only” 30.

However, the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson does not see vaccinations behind the decrease of these numbers. “I don’t think people understand enough that this is due to the lockdown, which was absolutely crucial to managing the pandemic,” Johnson said, adding that unfortunately the easing of measures will naturally affect the death toll.

Israel

Israel has seen a dramatic decline in all sorts of indicators. According to an analysis by biologist Eran Segal of the Weizmann Institute, the number of cases has fallen by 96 percent, hospitalizations by 90 percent and deaths by 85 percent since January.

The peak of the last pandemic wave was experienced by Israel a little later than Britain, about two weeks. At that time, the seven-day average was around 8,200 cases and over a hundred people died every day.

Now, the seven-day average is 174 infected, five in the event of death.

Israel offers the coronavirus vaccine to anyone who is at least 16 years old. In a nine million country, over 5.3 million people are protected in one dose, and according to official data, about 4.9 million Israelis are fully vaccinated.
