Results of FP2 MotoGP Portugal: Foremost Bagnaia, Marquez Sixth

Ducati Rider Francesco Bagnaia so the fastest in the second free practice session MotoGP Portugal 2021. Meanwhile, the Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez had a drop after finishing sixth.

In the second free practice session which was held at the Portimao Circuit, Friday (16/4/2021) evening WIB, Takaaki Nakagami immediately crashed at turn 1 when he started driving his motorbike.

Fabio Quartararo stepped on the gas to record the best time in the first minutes of the second free practice session. Ten minutes passed, Quartararo was still in the lead, followed by Alex Rins, Joan Mir, Miguel Oliveira and Alex Marquez.

Marc Marquez was still scattered outside the top 10 at the start of this session. Francesco Bagnaia, Oliveira and Johan Zarco tried to record the best times, but they still failed.

Five minutes remaining, Joan Mir was in the top position followed by Oliveira and Pol Espargaro. Jack Miller, who just underwent arm surgery, shot straight from 16th to second.

Meanwhile, Marc Marquez in his last attempt was able to improve his time record, even though he only finished sixth from 15th position. Bagnaia is able to sharpen her time to be in the forefront position.

Quartararo tried to overtake Bagnaia but failed so he had to settle for second place. Bagnaia became the fastest racer with a time of 1 minute 39.866 seconds, 0.038 seconds ahead of Quartararo in second place. Joan Mir in third place has 1 minute 40.285 seconds followed by Alex Rins and Jack Miller.

Marc Marquez finished sixth with a time of 1 minute 40,339 followed by Maverick Vinales, Johann Zarco, Oliveira, and Takaaki Nakagami. Nakagami was able to fix his time at the end of this session, after having fallen.

Valentino Rossi is only in 16th place, while his Petronas Yamaha teammate Franco Morbidelli is in 19th.
