MENLO PARK, iNews.id – Instagram is running a small trial. This trial will allow users to choose to hide or show likes on their posts or others.
This latest trial comes after seeing various responses from previous experiments they conducted where the number of likes was hidden by some users. Likes themselves are usually used to measure the popularity of an Instagram upload or account.
“In 2019, we started hiding the count (likes) so that a small group of people could understand if it took the pressure off of posting to Instagram,” a Facebook spokesperson said in a statement. Reuters, Friday (16/4/2021)
“Some people find removing likes helpful, but some still want to see the same number so they can track what’s popular,” he said.
