No longer wanted: Advertising trailers without a permit can now be towed in Bremen. (Lutz Rode)

The interior authorities only want to tolerate advertising trailers in parking lots to a limited extent. On Wednesday Interior Senator Ulrich Mäurer (SPD) announced that a new towing decree applies in Bremen. Apparently, citizens in the department had repeatedly complained that trailers were parked permanently. The parking of sidewalks, green spaces and parks can also be punished more strictly with the amended decree.
Mäurer provides an example of this: Drivers have already been warned when they park on sidewalks. If road safety is endangered by the car, the tow truck comes too. What is new is that parked cars can be towed if there is less than 1.50 meters of space for pedestrians.
The same procedure as with junk cars
On the subject of permanently parked trailers, the Senator says: “It cannot be that the few parking spaces in our city are also blocked with trailers. We will proceed in exactly the same way as we did with the unauthorized cars and junk vehicles from June 2018. ”Accordingly, trailers without a towing vehicle in front of them may not be parked for longer than two weeks. Then they can be towed. If the parked trailer is used for advertising, the towing service may intervene beforehand. The only exception: the respective owner of the trailer has obtained a special permit beforehand.
