Pater was harshly criticized by the judge: We all know it was not fair, someone else decided

After the defeat in the decisive seventh semifinal of the playoffs of the extra league with Třinec, the coach of the Mladá Boleslav hockey player Pavel Patera indirectly criticized the referees Oldřich Hejduk and Pavel Hodek, who in his opinion fundamentally damaged Central Bohemia several times.

“We dropped out, we have to congratulate Třinec on advancing to the finals, but we all know that it was not fair. The match was decided by someone else,” Patera told O2 TV.

“We’re proud of the boys, they’ve been out all season and it’s a shame it won’t be fair in the seventh game. This is disgusting, you just have to laugh at that.

The Mladá Boleslav team were very angry already in the 13th minute, when the referees did not recognize the goal of Maris Bičevskis for the previous controversial contact of Jan Stránský with the goalkeeper Ondřej Kacetl in front of the goal area.

They were even more angry with the situation in the 47th minute, when Bičevskis got into a break during the five-on-three match in Třinec, but at the end, Tomáš Marcinko evidently hit him in the hands with an “ax”. Instead of getting the guests a penalty shot, Třinec took advantage of the counterattack a few seconds later and Martin Růžička scored the winning goal.

“There were more things, then they compensate. Horror. Too bad he would ruin such a series. We should have lost normally, but this is… Too bad it ended up with such a mess, we didn’t deserve it,” Patera searched hard for words.

“Třinec is not to blame, today someone else decided and the whole republic sees it. If we want to keep it that way…” the Olympic winner and four-time world champion shook his head.

For the first time in his coaching career, he received a penalty until the end of the match and was expelled from the substitution. “There is arrogance. One asks something and he (the referee) talks about something completely different. How are they supposed to have authority if they can’t explain what you’re asking? That’s terrible,” said the former excellent striker.

He collected the penalty for trying to stop the departing referee Hejduk by hand. “First he shows two minutes, then suddenly the punishment is over. I don’t understand,” Patera said.

According to Patera, the critical words to the referees ‘address were not only his opinion, similarly the match was evaluated by other members of the implementation team, the skaters’ management and the players. “We all see it the same way. I speak for everyone, that’s how we agreed, and I was the lucky one who was chosen to say it all like this,” Patera explained.
