On Monday, the region recorded its highest daily toll since January 4, with eight new cases. Today is ten.
Across the region, this is the third significant increase in three days.
In addition to that of Rocher-Percé, the MRC Avignon, Bonaventure and Îles-de-la-Madeleine each have one new case.
The spread of the virus affects schools. Six cases have been confirmed among students and staff at the René-Lévesque School Service Center.
The primary schools of Pabos and Cap-d’Espoir are closed as well as the Bon-Pasteur school of Grande-Rivière in the MRC Rocher-Percé.
The primary school of Saint-Omer, in Avignon, remains open. The School Services Center, however, reports two people in confinement, but who had no contact at the school.

The public health department considers that there are four new recoveries and a total of 37 active carriers of the virus in the region. As of Tuesday, 18 people were potentially infected with a variant of the virus.
A total of 1,803 cases have been confirmed since the start of the pandemic. There is no more ongoing hospitalization in the region. Public health reported another one on Tuesday.

To date, 34,224 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Gaspé.
In Bas-Saint-Laurent, 13 new cases are added to the daily report, including two in the MRC from La Mitis and one in Matanie. Seven people are still hospitalized in Rimouski, including two in intensive care.
Across Quebec, health authorities have identified 1,559 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the province to 331,031 since the start of the pandemic.
