JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reports wage nominal laborer daily rose, however labor wages building is decreasing.
The head of BPS, Suhariyanto, revealed that the nominal daily wage for national agricultural laborers in March 2021 reached IDR 56,470. Wage this is up 0.17 percent from IDR 56,373.
“Because in March 2021 there was an increase in the rural household consumption index by 0.11 percent, the real wages in March will still increase, although only slightly, 0.06 percent,” Suhariyanto said in a video conference on Thursday (15/4/2021).

Meanwhile, the nominal daily wage for construction workers, aka non-foreman masons in March 2021, is IDR 90,971.
This nominal value actually increased by 0.02 percent from IDR 90,953. However, it decreased due to inflation.
“Nominally, it is almost flat, a slight increase of 0.02 percent, but in March there was an inflation of 0.08 percent in real terms wages of building workers down 0.06 percent, “said Suhariyanto.
For information, the nominal wage of a worker or worker is the average daily wage received by a worker as remuneration for work that has been done.

The real wage for agricultural labor is the ratio between the nominal wage of agricultural laborers and the rural household consumption index.
