The Nivolet high school in La Ravoire wins the Hippocrene prize for education in Europe in the “vocational school” category!
The news has just fallen: the Le Nivolet high school in La Ravoire with its HandiVal project is one of the winners of the Hippocrène prize for education in Europe in the “vocational high school” category. He therefore won the sum of 5,000 euros.
The Hippocrene Prize, launched in 2010 by the Hippocrene Foundation, is a competition offered to schools which rewards the best European partnership projects developed by a class and its teachers. Training in Europe, mobility, exchanges and projects are the best ways for young people to make their membership of this common whole that is Europe a reality.
This project, also funded by the Erasmus + program, enabled the Le Nivolet high school and the IES Politecnico in Cartagena (Murcia) to work on the theme of the inclusion of people with motor disabilities. The idea is to create furniture suitable for people with reduced mobility. The wooden and metal structures are conceptualized and manufactured by the French high school. The motorization of the movements will be carried out by the Spanish high school.
The pupils concerned are in CAP and BAC PRO class for the French and BAC PRO for the Spaniards. They are 11 per establishment.
Two meetings took place within the framework of this project: the young French people went to Cartagena from October 14 to 18, 2019. The young Spaniards visited their French partners in La Ravoire from December 3 to 7, 2019. D ‘ other meetings are planned by the end of 2021.
The Erasmus + project was due to end in February 2022 but the HandiVal team plans to continue its action well beyond.
