Russian warships training in Black Sea, US approaching | Abroad

In addition to frigates and other warships, helicopters and airplanes participate in the exercise with the necessary clatter of weapons, Russian media report. There are fires over the water and into the air.

US ships are expected to arrive in the area later this week. Both the US and NATO have raised the alarm about the build-up of Russian troops in Crimea and along the border with Ukraine. Moscow has urged Washington to stay away from the 2014 annexed Crimea “for its own good”. The Kremlin sees the move as a provocation to test Russian nerves.
