The seven interns started in mid-March. They will finish their course in the summer, being able to meet the replacement needs of the summer period. During this 16-week course, they will notably obtain a first aid diploma, meet professionals, follow personal development workshops, acquire skills related to these professions (note taking, memory games, report writing, ethics, confidentiality …), Have an internship period, discover training centers such as the training institute for health careers (IFMS) in Montbéliard. “At the end of the 16 weeks, they can be hired”, notes the director, on unskilled jobs such as hospital service agents, stretcher bearer, logistics service agent, hotel agent, jobs in tension in hospitals or nursing homes. Trainees may, if they wish, “Then plan for a qualifying training”, completes Anne-Laure Thery, coordinator of the course at E2C, by integrating, for example, a nursing assistant training; additional training places have been created by the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regional council following the health crisis (our article).
“I want to do a job that is useful to society”, confides Arnaud, 30, in professional retraining. He is one of the seven trainees who joined the course. He has never been passionate about the trades he has done before, in construction or in the factory. He projects himself towards the profession of stretcher bearer, “With a possibility of evolution”. If Chelsea, 21, signed up for this training, it is because she “Likes to help others” and ” human contact “. The young woman, who already has a degree in construction, is ready to work with the elderly or people with disabilities. This journey is a start. She imagines possibly continuing to become later “Nurse”. “These are jobs that are growing, that are stimulating”, note Chelsea, arrival from Guyana in 2019.
