JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – A motorcycle taxi driver named Udin was shot dead by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Eromaga Village, Omukia District, Puncak Regency, Papua, Wednesday (14/3/2021).
Udin died after suffering gunshot wounds to the chest and cheek. The victim died at the scene.
“At 13:20 WIT, the initial information was that there had been a murder of a motorcycle taxi driver in Eromaga Village, and the perpetrator was clearly KKB,” said Head of Public Relations Operations Nemangkawi Kombes Pol Iqbal Alqudussy in a written statement from the TNI Headquarters Puspen, Wednesday (14/4/2021) night.
So far Iqbal has not been able to provide further details regarding the chronology of the events that occurred, including the question of the identity of the alleged perpetrator.

Meanwhile, Kapen Kogabwilhan III Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa confirmed the KKB shooting incident against this immigrant resident.
“Yes, this is the barbarism of the OPM Armed Front, always committing acts of terror against the community. After killing teachers, burning schools and helicopters, now they are killing immigrants,” he said.
Suriastawa also said that the killing of civilians by the KKB would later be supported by the political and clandestine fronts in the media, on the allegation that the victim was a spy for the authorities.

“That’s their three-front cooperation. In the media they take advantage of influencers who have many followers, supported by their pro media,” he said.
Suriastawa conveyed that the TNI together with the Police have taken measurable measures on this series of incidents.
He also urged the public to remain vigilant on this development and not be easily incited by provocations and false news that are always spread through social media.
