Epidemiological indicators, which the Regional Health Agency (ARS) invites to “Interpret with caution” this Tuesday, April 13, 2021, report a first decrease in the virus circulation in Normandy. The incidence rate is down by 11.9% on average, to 312 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
A decrease which differs according to the departments: – 18% in Eure (344), – 17.2% in Calvados (226), – 12.1% in Seine-Maritime (365), – 4.4% in the English Channel (236). On the other hand, the incidence rate increased by 7% in the Orne between April 4 and 10, to 355 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
On the tests carried out, the British variant concerns 81.9% of cases; 2.3% for the South African and Brazilian variants. In addition, 155 clusters are under investigation.
Hospital activity
As of April 12, 1,588 people were hospitalized for Covid-19 in Normandy, against 1,540 a week earlier. Among them, 233 are in intensive care (+ 32 in one week). The hospital pressure in intensive care, compared to the initial capacity, reached 97%. 343 intensive care beds are activated.
Vaccination
As of April 12, 818,504 injections have been performed (606,587 first injections and 211,917 second injections). 70% of Normans aged 75 and over received a first dose of the vaccine.
