‘Sugary drinks lead to poorer learning and memory’

Children and young people who consume a lot of sugar have worse brain development than children who go through life without sugar. Sugar appears to affect learning and memory, according to research from the University of Georgia. This is reported by the Telegraaf.

Adolescents who drink sugary drinks on a daily basis notice a lot of this later in life. For example, they can learn less or have a worse memory. The scientists conducted the study on rats. “We found that rats who consumed sugar in their early life had a reduced ability to discern that an object was new to a specific context. The rats that were not given sugar could see whether an object was not or not. ”
