TEXAS – Officials with the Dallas School District issued a statement following the arrest of a teacher for alleged possession of child pornography.
According to the Dallas Police Department, Kevin Rayo, 26, was a teacher at Lakewood Elementary located on the 3000 block of Hillbrook Street.
“Due to the position and involvement of the community we are publishing this release to notify parents and the general public,” the department added.

For its part, the Dallas School District issued the following statement on the situation:
“On Monday, April 12, Dallas ISD was notified of extreme allegations involving a teacher. Local authorities are continuing their investigation and because this is a personal issue we will not comment further.
Please know that we remain committed to the well-being and safety of our students, staff, and families who are focused on providing the necessary resources for those who were affected. “
The police department adds that anyone who has additional information involving Rayo or believes his son may have been a victim can call the abuse unit at 214-275-1300.
Police records indicate that Rayos was released from jail on Tuesday, April 13 after posting bail.
