Delegates from Couesnon-Marches of Brittany agreed Monday evening to sell a plot of the Red Cross area, in Maen Roch, to the company Gorrondis. Located near the Gitem store, it covers 4,476 m2. Sale price 76,000 €.
Gorrondis also owns Maen Roch’s Super U, across the street.
This is a new episode in the history of the Red Cross. Plot number 3 was indeed initially promised to the company Landemaine (2019), which was replaced in September 2020 by the company One Place Immo.Project: open a Fresh Eats (fruits, vegetables, fresh products) and a bakery- sandwich shop Marie Blachère.
Sales promise in 2019
No question for the elected officials of Maen Roch, especially since at the same time Lidl plans to build a supermarket in the same area.
Rejected in CDAC, One Place Immo asked the national commission, before withdrawing from the game and entering into an agreement with Gorrondis, which replaced it last February. For its part, the town has renounced its obstruction: “we did not have strong enough arguments to oppose it” summarizes Thomas Janvier, the mayor.
To summarize: there is now in this area the Lidl project (not yet owner of the land), and the Gorrondis project.
A project on which Claude Richer (Gorrondis) does not wish to speak for the moment. “I will do it when concrete things are known” he explained to us on Tuesday. Note that opposite, Super U has just started major expansion work.

“The situation is changing. We have taken the general outline of the area, to harmonize the Lidl project, at the bottom of it, with Mr. Richer’s development project. The idea is to reconsider the overall development of the Red Cross, with this arrival while preserving the arrival of Lidl ”
The Lidl project provides for the creation of an access roundabout at the bottom of the area.
Another problem: a green corridor located in the center of the plots coveted by Lidl must be taken into account in the future development.
We should know more in a few weeks about the organization of the area.
“Our desire is to work on two harmonious projects. They are not quite ripe. Lidl’s is more advanced. Today we are at the stage of discussions. During May we will be able to give more details to the elected community members ”
The deliberation taken Monday evening by the community of communes evokes a “moral commitment” of Gorrondis to respect the trade balances in the zone and, more generally, in Maen Roch and in the territory.
