Deportivo Pasto and Junior de Barranquilla drew goalless for date 18 of the Colombian Apertura Tournament. Although there was a fact that drew the attention of the media in that country: the sports manager of the local team accused the Uruguayan goalkeeper Sebastián Viera because, allegedly, he told him xenophobic insults.
Alberto Santacruz, manager of Deportivo Pasto, used his Twitter account to write the insult of Viera during the game: “You are the manager of this shitty town,” the 38-year-old goalkeeper shouted at him in reference to the Nariñense region.
Santacruz addressed this issue and stressed: “What is really reprehensible is not the insults, it is the xenophobia and a derogatory way in which it refers to Pasto and the Nariño region.”
In that tweet that the manager of the Pasto wrote there is a video in which an exchange between Santacruz and Viera is seen. Although it has no sound. It should be noted that the Uruguayan goalkeeper has not yet expressed himself about this situation.
Racism ?????? Exact moment in which I suffer verbal attacks by Sebastian Viera,
What is really reprehensible is not the insults, it is the xenophobia and derogatory way in which it refers to Pasto and the Nariñense region. Words like: ‘You are the manager of this shitty town’ pic.twitter.com/z4Zq0CKfdn– Alberto Santacruz (@gerencia_pasto) April 12, 2021
