The Inorde (Ourense Institute of Economic Development) has its Center for Agricultural Development in Xinzo, which is currently in full swing. That’s right, as the entity explains, because with the arrival of good weather last March, the work of preparing the soils destined for the cultivation of the Limia potato is very advanced.
For this, it is essential to carry out soil analyzes that allow to improve the profitability of the farms by ensuring correct fertilization. An important part of the 3,000 annual analyzes carried out by the center correspond to potato and cereal cultivation soils in A Limia.
In relation to potato cultivation, the Inorde laboratory annually carries out about 1,700 analyzes to determine the presence in the land of cysts of Globodera spp, a pathogen that causes significant economic losses in this crop and in which the Centro Agrongandeiro is the only laboratory accredited by the Empresa Nacional de Accreditation (ENAC) at the state level for its determination, explains a statement released by Inorde.
