JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Heir of the first foreign minister of the Republic of Indonesia Achmad Soebardjo Djojoadisoerjo emphasized that he has the right to sell the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs office which is located at Jalan Cikini Raya, Central Jakarta.

Although the building was once used as a the first office of the Ministry of Foreign AffairsHowever, the ownership status is in the hands of Achmad Soebardjo, who has now been transferred to heirs.

Syahbudi Firman Soebardjo, the fifth grandson of Achmad Soebardjo, emphasized that the family has a valid ownership certificate (SHM) as proof of ownership of the land and building.

“As said by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this house belongs to the family. The status is SHM belongs to the family,” said Syahbudi when met by Kompas.com at the house with an area of ​​more than 2000 hectares, Tuesday (13/4/2021).

Syahbudi said, in the early post-independence era, the house was indeed used as the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At that time, his grandfather used his private house as an office because there was no building prepared by the state.

However, after there was an office prepared by the state, the house on Jalan Cikini Raya Number 82 returned to being a private house. Even the family of Achmad Soebardjo still lives in the house to this day.

“The family is still living here even though they have their own houses,” said Syahbudi.

Information about the sale of the house is known through an advertisement uploaded on the Instagram account @kristohouse.

In the advertisement on the Instagram account @kristohouse, the house in this strategic location stands on a land area of ​​2,916 square meters, with a building area of ​​1,676 square meters priced at Rp. 200 billion.

Previously, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Teuku Faizasyah also confirmed that the location of the old house for sale belonged to Achmad Soebardjo’s heir.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which was then called the Department of Foreign Affairs, said Faizasyah, had an office at that location for about two months in August-October 1945.

“Indeed, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once had an office there, in the house of the late US (Achmad Soebardjo), the first Indonesian Foreign Minister,” said Faizasyah to Kompas.com, Monday (12/4/2021).

“I can confirm that the building does not belong to the Foreign Ministry,” he said.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi visited the Dutch architectural house located at Jalan Cikini Raya Number 80, Central Jakarta in 2016.
