The comments were made in the aftermath of an attack on the Iranian nuclear facility at Natanz, which Iran blames on Israel.
Mr. Austin arrived in Israel on Sunday for a two-day visit. This is the first official visit to Israel by a senior official in the Biden administration. The visit comes as the White House has just participated in indirect talks on a possible return of the United States to the 2015 Iran nuclear deal.
