POLICE – The police are modernizing in our neighbors. In October 2020, the Spanish Civil Guard launched on TikTok. Preventive videos, testimonials of their missions, but also entertainment, the agents offer content that reflects the platform, as you can see in the video at the top of the article.
″ We could not let this challenge pass. Tell me which team you are, without telling me which team you are. Ours is a team of 85,000 men and women at your service. Are you joining us? ″. This is the message launched by an agent in a TikTok video, responding to a trend on social media. The police who adapt the TikTok challenges are now real in Spain.
But this arrival of the Civil Guard was not well received by everyone. In a video posted on November 30, 2020, agents dance to the song ″ Jerusalema ″. Some units, including the official Union of Professional Civil Guard, have published a communicated in which they share the ″ feeling of shame that many members of the Civil Guard feel ″.
However, their arrival on TikTok is a real success. In a few months, the account reached almost 400,000 subscribers. This platform represents a new channel for disseminating prevention messages aimed at a young audience. Revenge porn, assaults, contact numbers, scams to avoid … many tips that every young person can now see in their TikTok news feed.
Shortly after the Civil Guard, the Spanish police joined the platform. No need to search, the French national police has not (yet?) Created a TikTok account.
