This Sunday, April 11, the 500,000 doses of the Sinovac vaccine against covid-19. This batch was pending after the National Government confirmed this week that a delay had been presented by the Chinese laboratory.

These vaccines will be intended for the application of second doses, especially for people over 70 years.
The Vice Minister of Public Health and Provision of Services, Luis Alexander Moscoso, clarified in a statement that these doses will also serve to “cover some vaccines that could not be applied in previous days.”
The official, in turn, stressed that according to this type of progress in vaccination, by the end of the year the 70% immunization of the Colombian population as is, as planned.

In the government accounts, in addition to the one that arrived this Sunday, two other deliveries of Sinovac for weeks three and five of April, although the exact dates of arrival and the number of doses have not yet been defined.
However, the Ministry of Health has said that the laboratory expects to receive 5 million biological before the end of this month.

But they will not be the only ones. In recent days, in the ‘Prevention and Action’ program, the National Government assured that in April it expects to receive a total 7,634,400 doses of vaccine against covid-19 by different laboratories. This is an important figure, as it is more than double those that arrived in the country in February and March.

It is worth mentioning that, regarding the progress of the National Vaccination Plan, the health authority has reported that, with a cut-off at 11:59 pm this Saturday, April 10, 3,041,349 doses of the vaccine have been applied in the country against covid-19, a figure that includes first and second doses.
