On November 11, the mall’s Twitter account showed visuals of the healthy earthen tree, beaming with its greenness. But as soon as he arrived a few days later in front of the center, passers-by discovered him in a completely different state, as you can see in the video at the top of this article.
Laboriously hoisted by the crane, the tree gradually shed many branches, giving it a cleared, tired look. “It’s as if the Rockefeller Center 2020 Christmas tree had tried to cut its hair on its own,” quipped this Internet user.

For the witnesses of the scene, impossible not to be amused by this coincidence. The sad appearance of the tree can only be one of the causes of the “2020 curse”. The tree would also have suffered from this globally anxious atmosphere, generated by the pandemic and the American presidential elections in particular.
Others prefer to be positive, ensuring that the tree will be just as beautiful as usual when decorated. “The branches have to fall into place, there will be lights and decorations. It will be magnificent. So much negativity in a time like this, can’t you enjoy a little joy? ” writes this surfer.
