gold medal for the rowers Boucheron and Androdias of the Lyon club

They regained their title on April 11, 2021 at the European Rowing Championships in Varese, Italy. The pair of rowers, Hugo Boucheron and Matthieu Androdias, won gold in a pair. Bodes well for the Tokyo Olympics.

Sacred at the top of the Euorpe then the Worlds in 2018, the French and Lyon pair, Matthieu Androdias and Hugo Boucheron, climbed back to the top step of the podium of the European Championships. The rowers of the Cercle d’Aviron de Lyon won the gold medal in pairs this Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Varese, Italy.

Start of the season with a bang

They have done strong since their arrival in Italy. The two license holders of the Cercle d’Aviron de Lyon, world champions in 2018, won on the Varese lake after a disputed race. But in the end, the Lyon pair hit the end of their hull with more than two seconds ahead of the Dutch title holders at the finish line.

Licensed at the Cercle d’Aviron de Lyon, Matthieu Androdias and Hugo Boucheron, have not wavered during the European Championships which kick off the rowing season. They first came out of the playoffs easily, then reasserted their status as favorites, winning their semi-final the day before, on April 10, ahead of the British and Swiss.
