Defeat Persebaya, Persib to Semifinal

Sleman

Persib Bandung made it to the semifinals Menpora Cup 2021. The result was obtained after Maung Bandung defeated Persebaya Surabaya 3-2 in the quarterfinals.

Competing at the Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Sunday (11/4/2021), Persib was already winning 0-1 when the match had only been running for 44 seconds through Ezra Walian. The former Jong Ajax player successfully directed the ball to the top left corner of Satria Tama’s goal.

Persib increased the advantage to 2-0 in the fifth minute. Ezra works hard at chasing a ball that goes off the field and falls to the feet of Frets Butuan.

Frets then stabbed into the side of the penalty box. He fired a low cross into the center of the penalty area, which Wander Luiz finished.

Persebaya was only able to threaten Persib in the eighth minute. Rizky Ridho successfully greeted the corner’s bait with a header, but the direction was still slightly bouncing off the target.

A minute later, Persib almost increased his lead. Frets crow completed a counter-attack after his shot was slightly off the mark of Satria Tama’s goal.

Ezra must finish the match faster. He had a hamstring problem and was replaced by Esteban Vizcarra in the 14th minute.

Persebaya started to give resistance after 20 minutes of the match. The team made by Aji Santoso, which played a lot of players, launched young attacks in waves. On the other hand, the defenders of Maung Bandung are still very alert.

Persib increased the lead to 3-0 in the 37th minute. This time it was Nick Kuipers’ turn to put his name on the scoreboard, after welcoming the ball from the corner with a header.

Persebaya again tried to suppress. A speculative shot from outside the penalty box was released by Arif Satria in the 44th minute, but the ball was still sideways on the right side of Teja Paku Alam’s goal.

The Ijo shirt has to play with 10 people at the end of the first half. Satria Tama was rewarded with a straight red card for touching the ball with his hand outside the penalty box while trying to block Wander Luiz’s shot.

Persib immediately pressed at the beginning of the first half. The opportunity was obtained after Wander Luiz’s header from a cross was caught by Ernando Ari Sutaryadi.

Vizcarra wasted a good chance in the 54th minute. After tricking Rachmat Irianto, the former Seman Padang player fired horizontally, but the ball was still wide of the goal.

Persebaya narrowed the gap to 1-3 in the 62nd minute. Arif Satria tore Persib’s goal with a header after grabbing the bait from a free kick.

Persib also played with 10 people in the 64th minute. Wander Luiz was rewarded with a straight red card after hitting an opposing player.

When the situation with the number of players draws back, Persebaya has the upper hand. A wave of attacks was launched into Persib’s defense and there was an opportunity from Supriadi who failed to complete the goal in the 70th minute.

Persebaya forces Persib to accumulate players in the final third of the defense. Bajul Ijo was very aggressive in attacking, but several shots that were fired often hit Persib players.

Persebaya’s hard work paid off in injury time. Mokhamad Syaifudin broke into Persib’s goal with a header to change the score to 2-3.
