According to the social authority, 340 new infections were registered on Sunday. That is 132 cases more than a week ago and 154 fewer than on Saturday.
On Sundays and Mondays, the number of new infections reported is usually lower than on other days of the week, partly because fewer tests are carried out on weekends. According to the social authorities, a total of 65,617 people in the Hanseatic city have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 56,100 people in Hamburg can now be considered recovered.
Incidence value continues to rise
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days is now 139.9. It was the second increase after nine days with a declining incidence.
More corona patients in the hospital
According to the social authorities, as of Friday, 297 corona patients are being treated in Hamburg’s hospitals. The number of people in intensive care units is now 105.
According to the RKI, 1,411 people have died in connection with Covid 19 in the Hanseatic city since the beginning of the pandemic. That is two more than the last one stated.
