Seven ways to avoid ‘Sunday spleen’ to end the week on a high note

We have all felt the blues of Sunday before. After a pleasant and relaxing weekend, nothing is more unpleasant than remembering that the next day will mark the inevitable return of routine, work and an endless to-do list. Statistics suggest that you are not alone. According to a survey conducted by the job site Monster in 2008, 52% of French employees have had the “Sunday night blues” and spend the last day of the weekend worrying about the next day.

“Sunday night is not seen as the end of a great weekend, but as the start of something that neither child nor adult looks forward to,” psychiatrist Stuart Brown sums up at Real Simple. Australia’s Training site, devoted to students and workers, said most people were anxious because they were thinking about the week ahead, rushing to complete their to-do list for the week, or that they had not used their time productively.
